DUTIES
  • You will execute design and analyses, utilizing advanced architectural software.
  • You will conduct site investigation field trips to project sites to collect all pertinent data and refine or develop project scope by inspection of existing conditions and through meetings with the sponsoring and using activities.
  • You will investigate or evaluate architectural issues and concerns in existing facilities, and develop reports that include recommendations and options for remediation or corrective measures.
  • You will plan and lead project design conferences/work sessions and on-site design charrettes/ Functional Analysis Concept Development (FACD) with stakeholders to determine project requirements and to develop concept designs.
  • You will identify areas of risk associated with design and construction and develop mitigation strategies or alternatives.
  • You will perform quality assurance review of drawings, specifications, calculations, cost estimates, and studies prepared by Architect/Engineer (A/E) design firms.

QUALIFICATIONS

2) Providing technical recommendations/solutions to engineering problems encountered during the administration of construction projects ; and

3) Performing cost estimates, feasibility studies and/or constructability reviews in the construction of facilities.

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field Facilities Engineering Level II. Certification is required within 24 months of appointment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • Incumbent may be required to work overtime. Overtime may be required but not guaranteed on a regular basis.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
