Responsible for applying generally accepted accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, provide accurate and timely financial reporting, ensure appropriate accounting control procedures, and provide excellent service to the Finance and Accounting team's internal and external clients. This position is a key player in the period end close by maintaining fixed asset and finance lease processes, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations, completing revenue and expense review as well as financial statement preparation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and record journal entries
Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts and assist in researching variances
Perform period end expense review and provide variance analysis and explanations
Review financial data and investigate significant variances to budget amounts
Accountable for recording the cost of newly acquired fixed assets (both tangible and intangible), tracking existing fixed assets, recording depreciation, and accounting for the disposition of fixed assets
Accountable for recording finance leases and journal entries using LeaseQuery software and related account reconciliations
Review, analyze and allocate fleet invoices
Assist with annual budget preparation and periodic forecasts
Assist with annual financial statement audit and tax return
Assist with government and industry surveys
Perform ad hoc reports and financial analysis reporting as requested
Provide ideas for improved reporting, internal control, and operational efficiency
Support the operations teams with on-going and high priority ad hoc reporting and analysis of strategic initiatives
Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses, and capital expenditures
Maintain financial reports to clearly communicate actual results, forecasted performance, and variances to plan and forecast
Performs special projects and analysis as requested

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting with 2+ years of relevant business experience
CPA designation and public accounting experience preferred

Strong analytical and accounting skills
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment along with being self-motivated, ability to work independently, multi-tasking, and a high attention to detail
Ability to identify and resolve problems
Possesses strong numerical and analytical skills to describe problems, determine solutions and implement improvements
Must have the capacity to interpret a variety of technical information and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and capacity to learn new systems
Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel
Physical and Mental Demands:
Duties of this position require an individual to use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The individual may be required to sit for extended periods of time but must have the capability to walk and move. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
