LB Foster is looking for a Senior Manager, Accounting located in Lebanon, TN. And we want to talk to YOU.

Who You Are...

You will be integral part of our plant management team, leading and providing guidance, and/or direction for month-end closing, forecasting, inventory management, reporting and other accounting functions. 

This Position...

Is an integral part of the Accounting team at LB Foster.  Some examples of the work you might do include...


  • Complete the monthly close. Including all aspects such as closing journal entries and take ownership of investigating / resolving variances in a timely manner. Be able to explain any variances.

  • Support internal partners, other departments, management and external parties with data and analysis requests to drive operational improvements.

  • Develop in detail the annual plan & quarterly forecasts.

  • Analyze trends in plant wide costs and product line profitability to highlight areas of focus & increase the understanding at the plant.

  • Provide direction, guidance, & improvement opportunities for inventory management at both facilities. Particularly in implementing cycle counts. Guide the plant to reach out targeted ITO goals.

  • Drive and support continuous improvement by challenging the status quo, supporting. management initiatives and developing and documenting new processes.

  • Monitor cost systems, BOM, and inventory movements for financial reporting across three plant locations.

  • Prepare detailed account analysis reports for specific balance sheet accounts.

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and perform management testing for Sarbanes Oxley compliance.

  • Mentor plant leadership to enhance understanding of profit and loss, SG&A, and other financial metrics and what they mean. Helping to develop action plans to achieve goals.

  • Prepare product invoicing to customers based on BOM and/or contractual commitments and oversee accounts receivable.

  • Oversight of accounts payable submittals and payments to vendors.

  • Supervise and develop accounting staff for future growth.

  • Manage GSA reporting and ensure compliance.

  • Liaise with Controller to streamline financial procedures through continuous improvement.

  • Respond timely to both internal and external audit requests.

What Do You Need?


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required

  • MBA or advanced certification (CPA) a plus

  • At least 10+ years’ experience in accounting required, with six years’ experience in the manufacturing industry required.

  • Proficient in understanding of US GAAP; comfortable in review and analysis of plant financial statements.

  • Experience in cost accounting and product costing.

  • Strong SAP, ERP, or systems experience

  • Expert user of Microsoft Excel

  • Proven analytical skills.
