Staff Accountant at Roth Staffing Companies in Columbia, Maryland

Job Description:

The Staff Accountant Role will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.



Duties and Responsibilities



• Oversee the preparation of general ledger journal entries, fixed asset tracking, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and bank reconciliations


• Process all daily deposits, including lockboxes and all credit card transactions


• Accounts Receivable - create and maintain process to manage AR collections


• Accounts Payable - Audit and analyze weekly expenses


• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements


• Research and analyze outside financial statements (10-K & 10-Q)


• Assist with compliance in all 50 states, research sales and income tax nexus requirements


• Assist with CRM system and run frequent reports


• Take on additional tasks as assigned







Requirements



• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field


• 3-5 years in similar role


• Experience in Microsoft accounting systems (Dynamics NAV a plus)


• Microsoft CRM and Office suite skill level (advanced Excel knowledge)


• Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills


• Must have exceptional time management skills and detail oriented


• Able to work under pressure
