Work Hours: 3 Shift Rotation Schedule (rotates every 6 weeks); 7AM-3PM; 3PM-11PM; 11PM-7AM, Weekends as required

Location: Willard, OH


Key Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot, repair, install, modify, test & maintain new and existing electrical/electronic circuits, systems, components and controls of building & manufacturing equipment. Install, modify & repair electrical/electronic systems, apparatus and components of new & existing building & manufacturing equipment & controls while following guidelines of the National Electrical Code, Local Electrical Code, schematic diagrams, manufacturers manuals & specifications. Use laptop computer, internet, telephone support, email, electrical/electronic test equipment, hand tools and power tools required to perform job functions.

Qualifications:


  • Knowledge of where fixtures, wiring, and controls, such as light switches, circuit breakers, fuses, relays, and outlets, are installed and how they operate.
  • Ability to read and follow wiring diagrams that specify where wiring, fixtures, and controls are installed or are to be hooked up and show the type of wiring, fittings, and equipment installed or to be used.
  • Skill needed to remove and replace fixtures and controls, and to make repairs such as tightening connections, wrapping exposed wiring with insulating tape, and soldering loose wire leads to contact points.
  • Skill needed to rearrange old or install new outlets, relays, switches, and light fixtures in existing systems, and to test circuits to see if they are complete after making repairs or installations.
  • Skill needed to measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit to specified lengths and angles.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Must have skill in the use of hand tools and portable power tools, such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, strippers, drills, soldering irons. Preferred knowledge of manual or power conduit benders and threaders; and a limited variety of test equipment.
  • Must not be on a Final Warning
  • Proficient or better performance rating.
  • Demonstrated willingness to work required daily & weekend overtime as needed in a 3-shift operation.
  • Must be able to meet the minimum requirements for college coursework qualifications.
  • Ability to participate and complete a four-year apprenticeship program, including required college courses required to become a certified electrician.
  • Candidates are required to sit for and pass apprentice testing process.

  4. Basic Computer Skills in the areas of Google, Word and Access in order to support IT service on off shifts.
  5. Leadership: Using appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to inspire and guide individuals (subordinates, peers, superiors) toward goal attainment; modifying behavior to accommodate tasks, situations and individuals involved.
  6. Communication: Understands written or graphic information and able to communicate effectively with machine operators, machinists, engineers and supervision.

Successful candidates will be required to sign an apprentice agreement that includes ability to attend, complete and pass required courses.
