Job Description:

SUMMARY


The Product Design Technician creates and maintains Master Data and multi-level Bills of Materials (BOM's), routings, work centers, queue times, change masters and other related documentation to support procurement, planning and production of parts. This position also performs basic designs and costing of wire and cable utilizing customer specifications, other industry standards/documents and manufacturing capability. This role requires strong collaboration and organizational skills.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


* Create and maintain Material Master in SAP/ERP necessary for procurement and production of parts.
* Create and maintain part BOM's and routings, including test plans, necessary for production work orders.
* Interpret customer specifications and industry standards/documents for design verification.
* Design and cost basic wire and cable constructions.
* Perform technical contract review.
* Prepare raw material and product specifications sheets for Supply Chain, Customer Service, and customers.
* Develop, document, and maintain procedures for creation and maintenance of Master Data, BOM's, routings and other related processes.
* Review work orders for accuracy of BOM's, routings, test plans and revisions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT


Carlisle Interconnect Technologies is a clean facility, housing different machinery, equipment, processes, and chemicals which produce potential hazards in the work environment such as: ergonomic, chemical, machine point of operation, and powered industrial vehicle traffic. These hazards are controlled through means of engineering controls, such as machine guarding, and administrative controls, such as safety policies and programs. In certain areas of the facility, employees are required to wear Personal Protective equipment such as Hearing Protection, Safety Glasses, Safety Toe Shoes, and hand protection.


PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS


* ASTM F-2412-2005, ANSI Z41-1999, or ANSI Z41-1991 rated safety toed shoes
* Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety rated glasses
* Hearing protection, in specific locations
* Ability to compile with JSA in specific areas
