LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a governmental agency that is looking to bring on an assistant comptroller on a contract to hire basis. The person taking on this role must have prior experience with governmental accounting. The organization is 100% onsite and the person taking on this contract to hire opportunity would be responsible for handling the following duties:
Responsibilities:
Handle monthly balance sheet reconciliations and journal entry preparation
Responsible for assisting with the month end close
Supervise the accounts payable and cash applications function
Provide support to the Comptroller with clearing up any vendor management issues or providing monthly analysis
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
Qualifications:
Degree in Accounting or Finance is required
4+ years of experience with Governmental accounting is a must
Intermediate excel skills are required
Prior supervisory experience is desired
Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills are required
