Job Description:


HR GENERALIST

 

The HR Generalist's responsibilities include employee relations, risk management, compliance reporting, compensation, and supervising and assisting as needed.  Administers human resources policies and procedures according to company policies.  Processes paperwork for Human Resources according to established procedures.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

Evaluation Process

Responsible for interacting with BSC management and branch managers by sending out reminders. Review & process evaluations; communicate with managers with approvals and denials.  Set up BSC feedback surveys and send out emails to managers for this process.  Update salary history on eFile. Compensation reports annually for Branch Mangers as well as requests for other employees during the year.

 

Employee Relations

Generate employee counseling notices to document policy, performance violations, and corrective action as needed by management.  Generate exit interviews for branch or BSC before employee termination.  Communicate terminations report weekly.  Responsible for unemployment claims responses, appeals, and hearing and communicating with management.

 

Risk Administration

Manage and document Workers' Compensation and GL/Property claims.  The primary focus is legal and complicated claims.  Coordinate care and action with the carriers and branches.  Member of the GES Safety Committee.  Responsible for seeing that drug testing is done quarterly for the company so that GES complies with a drug-free workplace.  Annual federal reporting of OSHA reports for each branch.

 

Compliance

Complete annual reporting of EE0-1 and VETS-100 and file on a timely basis.  Work with affirmative action vendor to submit the required information to produce the yearly AAP.

 

General Duties

Respond to general inquires related to Human Resources.  Supervision of HR administrative staff.


 

 

DESIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Vital Human Resources background and current payroll system experience are imperative.  A well-organized person with strong administrative and good interpersonal skills.  Ability to multi-task and supervise employees and workload.

 

 

 

Education and Experience:

 

1.   Education equivalent to completion of the 12th grade.

2.  Completion of current HR/Payroll system training.

3.  2-5 years of Human Resources experience and certifications are helpful.

 

 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

1.   Basic elements of English language usage, spelling, and arithmetic.

2.   Must be dependable.

3.   Ability to supervise employees and workload.

4.   Ability to utilize computers, including word processing, spreadsheet, and email programs.

5.   Knowledge of office methods, practices, and procedures, and ability to make mathematical calculations.

6.   Ability to understand, carry out and execute oral and written directions.

7.   Ability to exercise independent judgment in making decisions.

8.   Ability to multi-task.

9.   Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships as part of a team effort with those contacted in duties' performance, including all other employees and customers.

10. Miscellaneous responsibilities as needed.
