The Phoenix Job Corps Center provides students with the opportunity to earn their High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), and hands-on training in the following areas: Certified Nurse Assistant, Clinical Medical Assistant, Medical Administration Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Plumbing, Painting, Security and Protective Services, HVAC, Landscaping, Electrical, and Building Construction Technology.

As the Work-Based Learning (WBL) and Career Transition Readiness (CTR) Specialist at Phoenix Job Corps, you will have a crucial responsibility in facilitating work-based learning experiences and ensuring that students transition smoothly into promising careers. Your primary role in this position is to coordinate and implement programs that bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world employment, which will help foster students' career readiness and success.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Work-Based Learning (WBL):

    • Develop and manage partnerships with local businesses and organizations to create meaningful WBL opportunities.
    • Collaborate with instructors to integrate practical, hands-on experiences into the curriculum.
    • Supervise and support students during WBL placements, ensuring a positive and educational experience.

  • Career Transition Readiness (CTR):

    • Design and deliver workshops on resume writing, interview skills, and professional etiquette.
    • Provide one-on-one guidance to students in creating personalized career development plans.
    • Organize career fairs, networking events, and employer panels to connect students with potential employers.

  • Monitoring and Evaluation:

    • Track and assess the effectiveness of WBL and CTR programs, making data-driven improvements as necessary.
    • Conduct regular check-ins with students to gauge their progress and address any challenges they may be facing.

Qualifications



High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates of Arts Degree or 1-year related experience working with youth. Must possess a valid in-State Driver's License and meet Company insurability requirements. CDL preferred.

Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and / or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.
