Company Overview: A leading provider of contract manufacturing solutions is expanding and is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the team. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of cost accounting processes, analyzing manufacturing costs, and providing insights to improve efficiency and profitability.
Responsibilities:
Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring accurate recording of manufacturing costs and inventory valuation.
Conduct cost analysis on manufacturing processes, raw materials, and finished goods to optimize costing structures and improve profitability.
Collaborate with production teams to analyze cost variances, identify cost-saving opportunities, and drive operational efficiencies.
Prepare financial statements, cost reports, and variance analysis to provide insights into manufacturing performance.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements specific to manufacturing.
Support inventory management by overseeing costing methods, inventory reconciliations, and physical inventory counts.
Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes, providing input on cost assumptions and financial projections.
Assist in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes specific to manufacturing, including vendor payments, invoice processing, and customer invoicing.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, with strong emphasis on cost accounting.
Proficient in Oracle, QuickBooks and have advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, inventory management, and product costing methodologies.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
Experience with process improvements and systems implementations in a manufacturing setting is a plus.
