Job Overview: Linde is looking for a Lead Pipeline Control Specialist in The Woodlands, TX. The Shift Lead/Vacation Relief Controller(s) (the "Lead Controller(s)") must be DOT Operator Qualified pipeline controller(s) and must be an SME (Subject Matter Expert) of the pipeline in order to fill in for shift controller vacations, train the controllers on shift, and be able to complete the job duties listed below when not covering a controller's shift. The Lead Controller(s) will not follow the "DuPont" schedule as per the shift rotation controllers. Primary Responsibilities: - Lead Controller's Schedule and Vacation Coverage Expectations: - The Lead Controller's base schedule will be a rotating 48/36 hour per week schedule (12 hour shift length). - One Lead Controller will be on days while the other on nights. - The Lead Controller on days will cover M-F day shift vacations. - The Lead Controller on nights will cover M-Th night shift vacations. - Vacation coverage for the week will not exceed originally scheduled hours of service for the week. For all coverage needed above the available Lead Controller originally scheduled hours, the PBC Vacation Policy will be utilized, and the Lead - Controller(s) will be in the overall vacation coverage rotation. - Weekend vacation coverage will be covered per the PBC Vacation Policy. The Lead Controller(s) will be inserted into the shift rotation in the event one of the eight shift controllers leaves the PBC and will cover the slot until it is backfilled. PBC LEAD/VACATION RELEIF CONTROLLER JOB DUTIES When not covering vacation, or backfilling a shift rotation slot, the Lead Controller(s) will be responsible for completing the job duties of Lead Controller listed below. The PBC Superintendent will be accountable for the completion of the job duties. When there are two Lead Controller's, the PBC Superintendent will assign tasks to the personnel individually and on an as-needed basis. - Job Duties: - PBC Controller Training Program - Update the PBC DOT Operator Qualification (Safe and Reliable) Training Program when necessary - Revise and/or create training as either safety or quality/reliability events occur to ensure the entire team is trained and to share "lessons learned." - As changes occur on operating parameters (pipeline/production facilities/customers), training modules created and updated in the training program. Maintain the PBC Efficiency Training Program - Create efficiency training modules for the USIG and HyCO - Identifying most efficient modes of operations during various parameters - Compressor efficiency - Pipeline pressure efficiency - Unmanned equipment efficiency (PSA's) - Create training modules and guides on new equipment and/or pipeline operations - As new production facilities and equipment fall under the PBC's Domain of Responsibility, create training on operations and monitoring. - Create assessments to review controller competencies for both new hires and experienced controllers (assessments administered by PBC Management). Qualify as a DOT OQ (Operator Qualification) Evaluator (Veriforce) - Administer pre-qualification exercises with new hires as well as assist in controller OQ process. PBC Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Management - Review and update PBC SOP's as necessary - Review Training/Operating notes to determine information which needs to be either added to a current SOP or a new SOP created - Aid in creating new SOP's (new equipment/production facilities/pipeline operations) PBC Emergency Action Plan - Create EAP response training scenarios for the PBC - Administer impromptu EAP scenarios to the controllers - Maintain/update DOT Compliance documents - Interface with Product Management to execute optimal H2 Plant alignment PBC SCADA - Database updates - Create calc based tags for alarming, mass balancing, efficiency - Update graphics following SOP-34A protocol - Put iFix tags into historical collect - updated existing historical collect tags Maintain/update the PBC Quality/ISO files - Assist with Quality Incident Reporting (QIR) reporting and analysis Weekly Alarm monitoring/rationalizing. - Review the weekly Alarm Report and rationalize top 4 alarms and report to PBC Management. - Learn the process of updating/creating alarms, as well as creating alarm suppression, in the alarm database USIG and HyCO real time efficiency monitoring and reporting. - Utilize current efficiency monitoring tools for weekly efficiency monitoring. - Execute productivity projects and / or become Green Belt certified. - Act as a backup to the Billing Manager Qualifications: - DOT Operator Qualified - Pipeline controller - SME (Subject Matter Expert) of the pipeline About Linde: Linde is a leading global industrial gases and engineering company with 2023 sales of $33 billion.
