Job Summary
Procurement primary objectives are to deliver a supply base that provides quality parts, on time, with continuously reducing cost, and commodity strategies which facilitate the total company strategy. Activities include, but are not limited to, development of commodity strategies, contract negotiations, program sourcing and cost reduction initiatives as well as selection and qualification of suppliers to procure production & non-production materials, parts, tooling and related services in accordance with the company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Coordinate program purchasing activities according to PMP and YF IOS including sourcing of materials, tooling and related services on time and below cost targets
Build a strong competitive supply base to support the companies long term strategy considering supplier capabilities, capacities, cost structures, quality systems, corporate cultures and other elements as warranted
Maintain and promotes sound relationships with suppliers and the business community through strict adherence with Code of Conduct principles.
Reduce overall costs by negotiation, value analysis, cost modelling and commodity knowledge. Support and leverage CI and VA/VE activities with suppliers.
Work closely with other functions e.g. Supplier Quality and Risk Assessment to identify and monitor any supplier related quality risk, supply risk, financial risk and/or environmental risk. Report risks on a regular based and create appropriate action plans to mitigate them.
Continually keep abreast of regulations, laws, raw materials and market information, and grasp the industry and market development trends of corresponding product related industries
Ensure smooth project launches as member of a simultaneous development team or commodity buyer by supporting all phases from acquisition to EOP
Develop, implement and continuously improve the European supplier management, coordinate with other functions and branches of the greater Yanfeng Group to leverage opportunities and to ensure smooth program launches
Education
Minimum of Bachelor's degree or equivalent working experience within business or engineering. Master's degree is an advantage
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience
Experience in automotive and/or procurement is an advantage
Problem solving skills to analyze and identify waste in supplier process to drive cost reductions and process improvements
Experience analyzing and executing contracts
Demonstrated understanding of key contract provisions, terms and conditions; Statement of Work requirements; and benchmark requirements
Experience identifying and understanding key cost drivers; preparing and presenting cost analysis to support decision making process; and working with Customer Business Units and Operations to understand Total Cost impacts to the business to drive proper sourcing decisions
Ability to gather information, analyze data, prepare for and/or lead negotiations to ensure Yanfeng Automotive Interiors financial, quality, delivery, cost savings and other corporate goals are met
Understanding of supplier performance, process, footprint strategies in relation to Yanfeng Automotive Interiors’ operations in order to provide Best Cost sourcing
Understanding of customer commercial and footprint strategies in order to provide Best Cost sourcing
Ability to interact effectively with a cross functional team comprised of purchasing, program management, operations facilities, quality, engineering, costing, and finance
Ability to lead and deliver results to support cross functional goals (launch on time, below cost targets, internal return rates, etc)
