Medical Research TechnicianTNPRC - Immunology
Location: Covington, LA
Summary
The Medical Research Technician performs acquisition of flow cytometry samples in the Flow Core Laboratory at TNPRC. Operates, maintains and troubleshoots Becton-Dickinson Flow Cytometers, specifically the LSRFortessa, the FACSVerse, and the FACSAria II. Stains whole blood samples for absolute count determinations. Maintains records of flow cytometry experiments performed, maintains archive of all raw data files, and distributes results to primary investigators via the LAN along with relevant technical notes and/or acquisition plots.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- One year experience working in a research laboratory environment
- Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist certification
- One year medical laboratory experience using automated laboratory instrumentation
- Flow Cytometry experience
