As part of Verticals & Regional Banking, this position works alongside our Not-for Profit, Law Firm Banking, and Regional Banking relationship management teams helping to screen, structure, and document loan requests. This position partners with Relationship Managers on deal assessment, is actively engaged with key clients, and supports with deal screen preparation, term sheets, etc., all with a mandate of helping to deliver consistent, high-quality loans to our Commercial Underwriting channel.



Responsibilities:



  • Partner with Relationship Managers to support underwriting due diligence on new borrowers.



  • Review financial analysis and underwriting for new borrowers as well as annual reviews and routine renewals of maturing and conforming loans.



  • Support centralized portfolio management team ensuring timely production of request letters, receipt, and initial review of required financial information, and advice to lending personnel, as well as production of appropriate file entries or determination of action plans.



  • Support Relationship Managers with necessary actions required for the preparation and management of Commercial Loan Risk Rating memoranda, Commercial Loan Portfolio reviews, Construction Loan Report reviews.



  • Generate new ideas and recommendations for continuous process improvement.



  • Represent Webster Bank as a brand ambassador at business and charitable events.



  • Participate in special projects on an as-needed basis.



  • Ensure compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures.


Education, Experience & Skill



  • Education: bachelor's degree; courses in accounting and finance field preferred.



  • Experience: 10+ years of prior professional experience or equivalent; professional experience in commercial banking underwriting and/or portfolio management related position is preferred.



  • Excellent analytic skills and attention to detail.



  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.



  • Strong competency in Microsoft Office suite - including Excel and PowerPoint.



  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with relationship managers, portfolio managers, credit officers, clients, and senior management.



  • Location: Connecticut: Stamford; New York: Manhattan, White Plains, Jericho

The estimated salary range for this position is $160,000 USD to $180,000 USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
