Job Description:

We are a Non-profit organization located in Naperville with a mission to enhance the lives of others. We are experiencing tremendous growth and are looking for an experienced and dynamic Grant Writer to join our team. This position will be responsible for identifying grant opportunities, developing grant proposals, and managing grant applications and reports. Your work will directly contribute to our ability to offer essential services and create opportunities for the individuals we serve. Familiarity with Raiser's Edge software or any other fundraising software is a strong preference, as this tool is integral to our fundraising and donor management efforts.


Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct research to identify potential grant opportunities from government entities, foundations, and other funding sources relevant to our mission.


• Write clear, persuasive, and comprehensive grant proposals. Oversee the grant application process, including submission deadlines, required documents, and follow-up reports.


• Work closely with the development team to create a strategic plan for securing sustainable funding. Track and report on grant applications' progress and outcomes.


• Develop and maintain relationships with funders and community partners.


• Participate in networking and outreach activities to promote our agency's mission and programs.


• Work closely with program staff to gather information and data needed for grant proposals and reports.


• Utilize Raiser's Edge software for grant tracking, reporting, and analyzing fundraising data to inform strategy.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Non-Profit Management, or a related field.


• 3+ years of grant writing experience, preferably in the non-profit sector and related to human services, education, or healthcare.


• Demonstrated success in securing grants and a strong understanding of the grant funding landscape for nonprofit organizations.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and persuasive manner.


• Strong research and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with grant management software. Knowledge of Raiser's Edge software is highly recommended.
