The Test Engineer 3 provides expertise in conducting complex, product design validation, and qualification testing. The ideal candidate should be a highly skilled Electrical Engineer specifically dealing with Electrical Components and Hardware. Also, should have an excellent mechanical aptitude, practical problem-solving skills, and a thorough understanding of testing tools and equipment within the aerospace industry.
Core Responsibilities:
Conduct testing in the New Product Introduction (NPI) environment, including writing test plans and procedures, test setup, execution, data collection and analysis, coordination with outside labs, and reporting.
Create formal qualification test plans, procedures, and reports.
Support all phases of a product's life cycle.
Conduct complex qualification testing and provide written reports to project engineers.
Analyze requirements and synthesize test and instrumentation systems.
Work across functional boundaries to support systems, mechanical, electrical, and production engineering.
Design special test rigs and advise on testing methods.
Collaborate with and manage 3rd party test facilities.
Perform analysis and troubleshooting to determine root causes of failures.
Coordinate test labs, equipment, and scheduling.
Conduct qualification testing to ensure products/systems meet design specs.
Perform functional operation and testing on electronic equipment.
Perform root cause analysis of test failures or anomalies.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance, including possible nights and weekends.
Specifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.
Experience: 5+ years of relevant test engineering experience.
Skills:
Experience with creating test plans and procedures.
Experience with designing automated test systems.
Experience with testing to MIL-STD-810 and RTCA DO-160 requirements.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Advanced electrical (digital/analog) & RF theory knowledge preferred.
Understanding of RF, Analog, Digital Circuits.
Hands-on experience with testing equipment.
Experience with developing production test systems.
Proficiency in schematic interpretation and precision measuring devices.
Strong documentation, organization, and attention to detail.
Ability to comprehend engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Experience with customer relations and strong communication skills.
Knowledgeable of aerospace manufacturing processes.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
