The incumbent is tasked with efficiently recording time and materials into the computerized maintenance management system on a daily basis through work orders, P.M.s, etc. Additionally, they are responsible for the daily dissemination of crucial operational and maintenance-related information to departmental management and maintenance teams.
This is a permanent role based in the Castro Valley/Ashland, CA area with a pay rate of $35-$45/hour ($73k-93.5k/year). Benefit package includes health/dental/vision/life insurance PTO, and 401k program.
Responsibilities:
Undertake daily housekeeping and cleanup of refrigeration machine rooms, refrigeration maintenance areas, and project sites.
Proficiently interpret and comprehend plans, specifications, schematics, operating and maintenance manuals for supervised systems.
Collaborate with management in formulating standard operating procedures, daily work schedules, and maintenance duty cycles for refrigeration and HVAC systems.
Support in the management of external mechanical and refrigeration contractors engaged in service, repair, and new contract work.
Provide assistance to building and material handling equipment maintenance teams.
Perform general building repairs, electrical troubleshooting and repairs, and other maintenance tasks as required.
Capable of working in environments with temperatures of 35 degrees or below for the entire shift and lifting weights of 40-60 pounds to shoulder height repeatedly.
Exhibit mechanical knowledge and the ability to assess equipment, work efficiently without direct supervision, and demonstrate leadership skills.
Willingness to obtain OSHA Level A Hazmat Certification (24 Hours, Medical Certification) and Incident Command Training (8 Hours) within 90 days of employment.
Willingness to acquire RETA (CIRO) Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator Certification within 1 year of hire to achieve Refrigeration Technician level III classification.
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years hands-on industrial experience encompassing refrigeration, ammonia, electrical, and HVAC.
An Associate Degree in Refrigeration, Ammonia, HVAC, or Electrical is preferred.
Certification in RETA, CARO, and FCF is desirable.
Nice-to-have Skills:
Education: Certification from Refrigeration/Electrical Trade School or equivalent, RETA - Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator (CARO) Certification, or an Associate 2-year Degree in HVAC, Ammonia Refrigeration & CFC Certification. Alternatively, any combination of experience, education, and training.
