Job Description:

HDG is in search of a Human System Integration (HSI) Engineer. In this position, the Human System Integration Engineer will play a crucial role as a team member, contributing to the reinforcement of assured Command and Control capabilities for our DoD customer within the Navy Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) in San Diego, CA

Duties:
• Offer technical support for developing enterprise architecture, including data structure and integration with existing models and tools.
• Manage operations and maintenance of Systems Engineering Technical Management processes across various programs.
• Research and analyze missions, tactics, equipment, interfaces, and resource allocations for new systems and programs.
• Gather relevant data to build models, ensuring traceability through the pyramid of models and alignment with operational capabilities.
• Provide systems engineering support for analyzing future system performance and offering recommendations during engineering events and certifications.
• Identify risks in enterprise architecture development for cybersecurity, utilizing digital engineering methods for system-of-system designs.
• Document cybersecurity evaluations throughout acquisition phases and manage SoS interface standards and agreements.
• Modify technical drawings documenting IT architectures for various platforms and manage system operations and administration.
• Evaluate cybersecurity requirements implementation across the acquisition lifecycle and develop S&T roadmap for NOA systems integration.
• Conduct tests, evaluate results, and present findings for DON laboratory testing, syncing with industry and academic development activities.
• Provide technical input and reviews for technical documents and attend meetings to support S&T Roadmap integration with NOA development activities.
• Review and analyze Acquisition Engineering documentation for programs in the RDT&E lifecycle.

Qualifications:
• An active TS/SCI clearance is required to be considered for this position.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in an engineering discipline or related technical field (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, Operational Research, Modeling and Simulation, Chemistry, Computer Science, Biology, or Naval Architecture).
• At least four (4) years of experience providing systems engineering support to a Navy program office supporting R&D, T&E, and systems acquisition programs.
• At least four (4) years of experience providing relevant HSI engineering support to a Navy program office in at least 2 of the areas below:
  • HSI design, installation, integration, and test support either in a laboratory or direct applications.
  • Design documentation/specification development.
  • HSI test planning and test procedures development, test conduct, analysis, and reporting.
  • HSI-related engineering requirements, performance and risk analysis.
  • Applying engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test or evaluate systems.
  • Applying engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition, training, and resource management.
  • Conducting Task Analyses (e.g., Mission Task Analysis, Top-Down Functional Analysis, Critical Task Analysis).
  • Design, installation, integration, and test support either in a laboratory or operational systems.
  • Understand Naval operations from unit level through operational staff and headquarters planning.

Desired Qualifications:
• At least six (6) years of experience providing systems engineering support to a Navy program office supporting R&D, T&E, and systems acquisition programs.

Salary at Highbury Defense is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements This is a contingent position expected to be in San Diego, CA. The pay range for the position will be provided at the time the position is no longer contingent.
