Position Description:


We are searching for an Investment Analyst Trader IV. This role is responsible for executing purchases and sales of securities under the direction of a portfolio manager or trading manager. Conducts quantitative analysis of individual securities, industry segments, or other potential investment opportunities. Monitors market conditions, sector performance, and trading volume/activity. Assists in the development of a trading strategy meant to enhance profitability while reducing liquidity and interest rate risk. Identifies relative value opportunities that support strategic business objectives and portfolio strategies. Prepares reports detailing regulatory and compliance qualification of executed trades. Analyze portfolio characteristics and performance, and report to management and Asset Liability Committee on a regular basis.



Day-to Day-Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collects and analyzes financial information for assigned securities or sectors to assist in the development of investment strategies for one or more portfolios.
  • Collects and interprets price, yield, stability, or other financial metrics.
  • Tracks and reports on current or expected financial performance and makes recommendations meant to improve portfolio returns.
  • Monitor macro-economic conditions and report to management and Finance division.
  • May provide guidance to more junior traders.

It is an important role that covers many skills. This position requires a Bachelor's degree with a major in finance or business administration with a course concentration in finance, accounting, or banking and ten (10) or more years of experience in diverse institutional fixed-income securities and/or financial analysis. MBA or CFA designation highly desirable.

Possesses expert knowledge of purchasing and sales of securities. Ability to communicate/coordinate effectively with all levels of management as well as with outside vendors; Ability to exercise sound judgment, use discretion and maintain confidentiality. A moderate degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Ability to work with minimal supervision and to travel on a moderate basis. Skill in oral and written communication. Intermediate to advanced skill level in Microsoft Office applications. Experience using fixed income analytical tools such as Bloomberg, YieldBook, FactSet or other similar products. Possesses analytical thinking and mathematical skills. Fundamental knowledge of fixed income trade flow including execution, settlement, accounting, and reporting. Familiarity with liquidity and cashflow forecasting, and how it affects portfolio management decisions. Ability to work as part of a team. May coach or instruct junior colleagues. Ability to troubleshoot and solve basic problems prior to escalating to senior staff. Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group. May act as a \"lead\" or first-level supervisor.
