Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant specialized in SEC reporting to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and reports in compliance with SEC regulations. This position requires a meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
Responsibilities:
SEC Reporting: Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements (10-Qs and 10-Ks) in compliance with SEC regulations, including footnotes, MD&A, and financial statement disclosures.
SOX Compliance: Assist in maintaining and enhancing internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) requirements.
Technical Accounting: Research and interpret accounting standards and regulations, providing guidance on complex accounting issues and their impact on financial reporting.
Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and trends to identify potential areas of improvement or risk, and provide recommendations to management.
Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits, providing documentation and support for financial statement assertions.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and improve financial reporting processes, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including Legal, Treasury, and Investor Relations, to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information.
Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects as needed, such as mergers and acquisitions, technical accounting research, or system implementations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on SEC reporting.
Thorough understanding of US GAAP and SEC regulations, including experience with XBRL tagging.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex accounting issues and regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; experience with Workiva and Oracle ERP is a plus.
