Position Summary

We are seeking a Business Systems Analyst with a minimum of 8-10 years of prior work experience. The position requires proven experience in gathering business and technical requirements, analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development. Sound project management skills, planning, organizing, and managing resources are desirable.

Business Systems Analyst - Qualifications
  • Elicits, analyzes, specifies, and validates the business needs of stakeholders and end users.
  • Conducts interviews to gather business requirements via workshops, questionnaires, storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods.
  • Works with stakeholders and the project team to prioritize collected requirements.
  • Analyzes and verifies requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards.
  • Collaborates with project sponsors to determine and document project scope, vision, outcome criteria, and metrics.
  • Translates conceptual business requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project teams.
  • Develops technical requirements (scoping) and prepares size and effort estimation.
  • Creates process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or the project team.
  • Develops and conducts peer reviews of business requirements to ensure that requirement specifications are correctly interpreted.
  • Assists with the interpretation of business requirements into feasible options and communicating these back to the business stakeholders.
  • Manages and tracks the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; enforce and redefine, as necessary.
  • Participates in the QA of solutions to ensure features and functions are delivered.
  • Supports functional Analysis and Test Scope identification.
  • Supports user acceptance tests and post-production tests
  • Reviews Test Results and Defects.
  • Communicates changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements to project stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood.
  • Tracks the status of team activities assigned and Implements corrective and Preventive actions.
  • Follows project change management process for scope, schedule & cost as required.
  • Identifies reusable components or project documents to be included in the organizational knowledge base.
  • Researches, reviews, and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements-gathering processes and develops strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes.
  • Develops and utilizes standard templates to write requirement specifications accurately and concisely.

Technologies
  • Working knowledge of SQL, SharePoint, and Reporting software
  • Proficient in Project Management software
  • Proficient in Windows Office systems

Education

University degree in the field of business administration, finance, or information systems
