Job Description:

We are searching for a Ultrasonographer MFM II -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will perform routine and comprehensive ultrasound examinations for interpretation by the Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Radiology faculty using specialized ultrasound equipment. In assisting the interpreting physician, the diagnostic ultrasonographer is able to obtain, review, and integrate pertinent patient history and supporting clinical data to facilitate optimum diagnostic results; perform appropriate procedures and record anatomic, pathologic, and/or physiologic data for interpretation by the physician; record and process sonographic images and other pertinent observations made during the procedure for presentation to the interpreting physician; exercise discretion and judgment in the performance of the diagnostic exam; provide patient education related to the ultrasound procedure; adhere to the standards of care and maintaining a safe environment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Performs high-quality diagnostic ultrasound imaging exams in accordance with established department guidelines and protocols. Be able to independently scan routine and comprehensive ultrasounds under the supervision of the MFM Physicians. The sonographer always maintains a high standard of medical ethics and is self-motivated to increase the level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease process, and new procedures as they evolve

Skills & Requirements

• Technical Diploma Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or
• Associate's Degree or
• Bachelor's Degree
• RDMS-OB - Reg Diag Med Sonographer OBGYN by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
• NUCH TRA - Nuchal Translucency by the Perinatal Quality Foundation, RDMS-NE - RDMS in Neurosonology, RDMS-FE - RDMS in Fetal Echocardiography, preferred
• 2 years of maternal fetal medicine scanning experience Or 4 years of Ultrasound scanning experienceTexas Children's Pavilion for Women is a comprehensive obstetrics/gynecology facility and one of a select few hospitals nationwide that provides women, mothers and babies with a full continuum of high-quality, expert health care.
