DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The Corporate Sponsorship department's primary role is to secure corporate funding for NEPM’s local media operations by raising awareness in the marketplace for public media (television, radio, events, web and print) as a marketing solution for local, regional and national businesses and organizations.
JOB OVERVIEW
The Account Executive is responsible for securing corporate sponsorship revenue through the generation of program underwriting, digital advertising, and event sponsorship. This position is responsible for cultivating new accounts and continued growth of renewed business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Working with Sales Manager servicing existing clients and cultivating new businesses through in-person presentations, cold-calling, networking and prospecting in the business community, and following up on call-in leads
Service assigned clients by negotiating contract terms and organizing all elements of account relationships associated with timely billing, account reporting, copy and spot creation
Facilitate spots by working in collaboration with the On-Air Promotion Director and completing necessary paperwork. Review and approve pre-produced credits
Present and enforce consistent NEPM/NPR/PBS & FCC standards for underwriting credits
Coordinate advertising sales for NEPM.org and coordinate production of ads with clients
Communicate and behave in a way that is free from discrimination, intolerance or harassment when interacting with co-workers, colleagues and clients
Stay informed on station activities and cooperate with all departments
Participate in station Events and other community events and/or activities as assigned
SKILL SET
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written required
Familiar with NEPM’s programming schedule
Knowledge of, and interest, in public media
Strong working habits and be able to function in a multi-task environment
Self-starter and be able to work independently and as a team player dependent
Computer literate
Detail Oriented
Valid driver’s license and access to transportation required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required. Sales or fundraising background with 2-5 years demonstrated successful results required.
