SUMMARY



Alaska Industrial Hardware, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is actively seeking to fill our Will-Call Sales position. As a Will-Call Counter Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, handling customer inquiries, and efficiently fulfilling orders at our will-call counter. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess strong organizational skills, and are eager to learn. The successful candidate will assist with order processing, maintain accurate inventory records, and contribute to a positive and collaborative work atmosphere. No prior experience is required; we are looking for enthusiastic individuals with a customer-centric mindset and a willingness to be trained.

Responsibilities




ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



• Process Point Of Sale (POS) transactions• Process Total Warehouse Logistics (TWL) transactions• Assure proper service and care is given to every customer• Pull and prepare customer orders quickly and accurately • Box and stage orders in a designated area for customer pick up• Promptly and professionally answer the phone• Complete daily assignments at the direction of the store management team

Qualifications




QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION




Required (Minimum) Qualifications

• 18 years or older
• High school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



• Basic computer skills• Basic knowledge of products sold• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math• Basic knowledge of UOMs, Shipping, and Transfer Units • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral• Must be self-motivated, being able to complete tasks during unsupervised periods



Preferred



• Background in the construction or mechanics trade• Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices• Proven work experience as a Retail Sales Associate, Sales Representative, or similar role



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. • Must be physically able to be on your feet, standing, walking, and working on hard concrete and tile floors for full shifts. • Must be able to lift and carry 50# repeatedly, safely, and without unusual strain.• Frequent bending, reaching overhead, kneeling, and squatting.• Frequent pulling and stocking inventory items onto carts, or with material handling equipment. • Frequent pulling and stocking inventory items from roll-a-stairs and ladders• Frequent climbing of ladders and stairs while carrying objects• Assist and upkeep of facilities including but not limited to snow removal, dusting, sweeping, and mopping as needed



WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Job is performed in an indoor retail store setting
• Exposure to computer screens and requires use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system
• Ability to properly use general warehouse material handling equipment
• Follow all safety rules and procedure and properly using all safety gear
• Possess the proper situational awareness to work safely in a warehouse environment where you and others are using and operating forklifts, pallet jacks, packaging machines, ladders, box cutter and other potentially dangerous equipment and tools
• Maintain a safe work environment, assist in maintaining Distribution Center security and comply with OSHA and MSDS standards

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• No supervisory responsibilities
