Job Description:

Machine Operator II (Valver-Tipper-Capper Operator) - 2nd Shift

Operates and monitors continuous in-line process equipment to manufacture and package products that meet quality standards and customer requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate variety of machines to produce both aerosol and liquid products.


• Perform quality inspections of in process materials and finished goods. Rejects substandard quality.


• Manually manipulate components on production line to ensure proper filling and packaging.


• Complete written production records of shift activities and performance as required.


• Perform machine set-ups and changeovers for equipment. Must be able to perform these tasks within 90 days of placement.


• Perform re-work to eliminate waste of materials. Identify root cause for defects.


• Relieve team members for breaks and lunches.


• Perform basic maintenance on equipment such as minor adjustments.


• Maintain clean and safe work area.


• Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Functional Responsibilities

Operators have the authorization to reject materials and finished goods that do not meet the established quality standards.  Use of some judgment to comply with instructions and prescribed routines.  The ability to meet quality standards, follow safety rules, follow company policies and procedures and the ability to work in a team environment.

Educational Requirements

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.  Technical College is a plus.  

Work Experience

3 years 

Technical Skills

Problem solving includes performing correct machine set ups and changeovers, ensuring proper flow of material, correcting jams, balancing line, resolving quality issues by adjusting machines or contacting maintenance for repairs. The ability to operate a variety of machinery (see list on front page).  Understanding of the flow of materials and operation of machines. 

Additional Information

The ability to read, write and perform basic math.  Must read and speak English.

$18.00/hour plus $0.50/hr shift premium
