The Project Manager position is responsible for helping to develop and guide the companies internal projects. While this role is not currently planned to have any direct reports, it is considered a leadership role within the company. This person provides leadership, motivation and direction to the organization and all functions throughout the business. Projects may span engineering development efforts, manufacturing and business growth projects, and projects related to
process improvement. International travel will be required.
SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the development of clear specifications, detailed project plans, and accurate budgets for a variety of project types. These projects may have a scope ranging from individual contributor to team members in multiple countries holding various roles.
Plan and guide the implementation of changes to or additions to current manufacturing lines and facilities or for new manufacturing facilities.
Plan, organize, and direct a cross-functional team to ensure the most effective implementation of plans.
Provide insightful analysis of the strategic direction and needs of the company.
Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives.
Develop and implement projects supporting strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports strategic initiatives.
Support and provide leadership of a Lean Culture.
Encourage the use of new techniques and focus on fact-based problem-solving.
Manage spending against budget and in relation to changes in production volume.
Help with the development of yearly operating budgets and related reporting to ensure that expenditures are consistent with the business plan and subsequent forecasts.
Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team.
Manage any third parties to which functions have been outsourced.
Review and suggest capital appropriation requests against approved budgets for availability of funds prior to commitment.
EXPERIENCE:
MBA preferred. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in the manufacturing sector, preferably electromechanical, with at least 5 years in a project management role. They will have previous successful experience managing projects in a manufacturing facility and a proven track record in partnering with executive teams. They will have demonstrated leadership and team-building skills.
