Your Role:

Benefits Specialist

Work Location: 100% in-office at 2820 W. Winton Avenue, Hayward, CA 94545 and covering multiple offices in the Bay Area.

Compensation: $23.00 to $25.00 per hour. The offered base compensation may vary depending on factors including location, local market data and your unique skills, and experience

As a Benefits Specialist with us, you'll partner with our Benefits team to assist with open enrollment, monitor the Benefits mailbox to help answer questions and concerns, help track employee related data in Excel and our HCM and assist with other benefit related tasks, as needed

The successful candidate has a customer service mindset and is comfortable working with internal and external stakeholders both online and in-person

What You'll Be Doing

Essential Functions
  • Helps employees understand benefits by answering questions
  • Following up with affected employees during leaves of absence
  • Handles administration of Worker's Compensation claims
  • Helps manage the Benefits inbox by responding to inquiries and answering questions
  • Sorting and organizing benefit documents
  • Helping with invoices
  • Interprets related policies and procedures
  • Ensures regulatory agency compliance
  • Creates communication materials including presentations and information packages

What We'd Like to See from You

Required Qualifications
  • 1 year of experience in Human Resources
  • Customer service background
  • Ability to handle confidential employee information with discretion and good judgment
  • Knowledge of benefits, invoicing, and business administration
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Excellent verbal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Able to work quickly, accurately, and independently
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Proven ability to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
  • Ability to translate and analyze data into reports

Preferred Qualification
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
