WHAT YOU WILL DO:

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Manager with expertise in automotive manufacturing and proficiency in JD Edwards software. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in managing materials and inventory in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. They will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of materials management - including procurement, vendor management, inventory control, production planning, and production scheduling to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for materials management to support production schedules and meet customer demand.
  • Manage the procurement process, including supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management, to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials at the best possible cost.
  • Optimize inventory levels to minimize carrying costs while maintaining sufficient stock to support production requirements.
  • Coordinate with production planning and scheduling teams to ensure the availability of materials and components needed for manufacturing.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to materials management, such as inventory turnover, stock-out rates, and supplier performance, and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, manufacturing, engineering, quality, and finance, to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies related to materials management, including environmental regulations, safety standards, and quality control procedures.
  • Supervise and mentor materials management staff, providing guidance, training, and support to foster professional development and enhance team performance.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in materials management, with 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in the automotive manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in JD Edwards software or similar ERP systems, with a strong understanding of materials planning, procurement, and inventory management modules.
  • Hands-on experience with production planning, inventory control, and logistics in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with experience in supervising and developing a team of materials management professionals.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
