Job Summary
A leader of sophisticated defense systems is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Design Engineer to contribute to the design and development of systems for our products.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of all product systems, from concept through to production, including re-engineering existing products to meet customer requirements and specifications.
Duties/Responsibilities
Design and development of systems to meet project requirements and performance objectives.
Plan and execute comprehensive testing and validation procedures.
Analyze test results and make recommendations for improvements or modifications.
Collaborate to integrate products into larger defense systems ensuring compatibility and seamless operation with other components.
Implement safety and reliability standards and procedures throughout the system's lifecycle.
Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including system specifications, design documents, test plans, and reports
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to system design and function.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions (RCCA).
Ensure that designs comply with relevant safety and industry regulations, and MIL standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including program management, electrical, mechanical, and software engineers, to ensure successful project execution.
Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in systems engineering to drive continuous improvement in our designs.
Required Skills/Abilities
Experience leading the full design, integration and test engineering of military systems such as missiles systems or UAVs.
Work as a technical team lead for design engineering teams.
Proficiency design software and simulation tools.
Strong knowledge of system components, including propulsion, GNC, imaging, and energetics.
Knowledge of defense industry regulations and standards.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautics Engineering, or Systems Engineering as it relates to the aerospace & defense industry. Master's degree preferred.
Demonstrated experience in systems design engineering for defense programs such as missile systems, weapon systems, and loitering munitions is preferred.
Must be a U.S. person as defined by 22 U.S.C. § 6010
