Job Description:

Position Title:  Cup 2 Filler Operator

Department: Cream Cheese

Location:  Stephenville

Title of Immediate Leader:  Cream Cheese Team Leader/Team Advisor

Full Time: Yes

Shift:  Red Days 7a-7p

Base Rate:  $21.19

Position Purpose: 

Act as filler/whipper operator. Responsible for operation of equipment that supplies product to the filler and ensures all areas are functioning as needed. Checks orders and assist with minimizing downtime. Performs other line duties as needed to ensure line runs accordingly. Perform other duties and help in other areas as needed. Works closely with TA/TL on operations of the line and equipment. Work with Leaders and fellow partners to ensure Food Safety and Partner Safety. Understand and execute standard operating procedures relative to position. Perform all PCP and CCP checks required for position. Follow reaction plan for Food Safety, Food Quality and customer requirement outages and by contacting TA/TL.

                                                                                                                                               Essential Functions:  


  • Operate rotators (whippers) to ensure consistent cheese supply to cup filler.


  • Ensure proper CIP and equipment sanitation.


  • Weight control/density documentation (whipper), shift record keeping.


  •  Operate automatic filler, transfer and feed cups, lids and foil into the machine.


  • Reads production order or follows oral instructions to determine cheese type, style and packaging material required. 


  • Sets specifications as indicated by the product, package size and production order. 


  • Operates switches on the control panel to start, stop, and fine tune the machine.


  • Observes operation of filler to detect and correct inconsistencies.


  • Monitor and document cup weights.


  • Clears jams on the sealer.


  • Remove and discard empty cup, lid and foil boxes.


  • Periodically train operators on other shifts in the operation and preventative maintenance of fillers.


  • Understands duties and responsibilities for fillers and can demonstrate proficiency in running the machine.


  • Assist in operations as needed including general sanitation and a portion of the QA responsibilities.


  • Ability and willingness to interact in a positive, professional and team-oriented manner with people at many levels and in many roles.


  • Ability and willingness to lead and maintain an attitude of flexibility and cooperation in all interactions.


  • May help on other lines as needed.


  • Assist in development and implementation of SOP’s, PCP’s and GMP’s.


Educational/Experience/Skills Required:

High School Diploma/G.E.D.

  • Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.

  • Training in Food Safety and Safe Work.  Additional certifications will enhance the partner’s potential for success.


  • Compliance with safety procedures, GMP’s, requirements and designated PPE


  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.


WORKING CONDITIONS:


  • High noise levels requiring the use of hearing protection.


  • During sanitation activities, potential exposure to chemicals and wet conditions is likely.


  • Chemicals may require the use of PPE.
