Job Summary
The Registration Technician I is a member of the Registration Desk Team and is responsible for the collection, verification, and entry for all unina demographic and insurance information. The accurate and timely performance of job duties of the Registration Technicians directly impacts the revenue received by the Kenaitze Indian Tribe.
Essential Functions
Responsible for unina registration, ensuring accurate capture and data entry of all unina updated demographic and insurance informationEnsure capture of all charges for services provided at the Denaina Wellness CenterAccurately and efficiently processes unina for either imaging or laboratory testingReceives written orders for lab tests from physicians, nurses, medical assistants or case managersFollows all laboratory safety rules and reports any possible hazards to the Lab/Imaging Director and/or Medical DirectorFiles and/or retrieves lab copies of patient test reports in lab integrated software (LIS)Must be able to use multiple computer software programs and use of internet based data entry programsMust be able to use and be familiar with medical software programs associated with the electronic medical record systemAttend all required meetingsEnsures compliance with Tribal, federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, Tribal policies and TERO ordinance

Education
High School Diploma or GED
Experience
One year in a scheduling or registration function in a healthcare setting requiredExperience and understanding of radiology and laboratory function preferredProficient in Microsoft Office SuiteKnowledge of, and experience in, Electronic Health Records with specific focus on Unina Scheduling and RegistrationKnowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR, Part 2
Preferred
Knowledge and experience working with cultural diversities
License/Certification
Must have a valid Alaska State drivers license and must remain insurable under the Tribes policy, or obtain within 90 days of hire, or, with approval of the hiring manager, sign a *Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in lieu of having a drivers license to perform the required duties of the position

This position is a Covered Position subject to all requirements of the Alaska Barrier Crimes Act (ABCA) and to the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act, (ICPA). ABCA and ICPA requirements apply and must be complied with at all times in order to remain in the position.
*Memorandum of Understanding: Serves as documented evidence that the Kenaitze Indian Tribe has expressed the ineligibility of an employee to operate motor vehicles owned, leased or rented by the Kenaitze Indian Tribe, or to operate a personal vehicle on behalf of the Kenaitze Indian Tribe.
