RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Linux Administrator in Spring, TX.

Summary:
As a Kubernetes/Linux Administrator, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our Kubernetes clusters and Linux-based infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include setting up new features in Kubernetes, ensuring smooth operations, and collaborating closely with developers to support continuous delivery.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Kubernetes Management:

• Create and manage new features within Kubernetes clusters


• Work with Kubernetes manifests (YAML files) to deploy applications and services


• Troubleshoot issues related to pod deployment, scaling, and networking


• Monitor cluster health and performance

Linux OS Administration:

• Proficiently set up and administer Linux operating systems (Ubuntu, RHEL)


• Configure system settings, user accounts, and permissions


• Implement security measures and maintain system integrity


• Optimize system performance and resource utilization

Containerization and Orchestration:

• Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration

Issue Management and Troubleshooting:

• Debug issues within the Kubernetes cluster, such as pod failures or misconfigurations


• Troubleshoot networking problems, DNS issues, and resource constraints


• Investigate and resolve issues related to deployments not scaling correctly

Continuous Delivery Collaboration:

• Work closely with developers to support continuous delivery pipelines


• Ensure that Kubernetes deployments align with the CI/CD process


• Provide expertise on best practices for deploying applications in Kubernetes

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)


• Proven experience as a Linux Administrator or similar role


• Strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture and components


• Familiarity with container orchestration using Kubernetes


• Knowledge of kubectl commands for managing Kubernetes resources


• Experience with Docker and Docker Registry


• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail


• Effective communication and teamwork abilities


• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
