The Enterprise Applications team is responsible for the architecture, management, maintenance, security and day-to-day support of enterprise administrative systems. This team works in a multi-technology environment. This team develops and maintains procedures for ensuring the usability, performance, integrity, security, and recoverability of the university's critical administrative systems, processes and data.
The Senior Programmer Analyst analyzes, implements, and supports University business processes and related technology environments through:
application configuration, administration, integration, development, and documentation in a wide array of technology environments;
business process analysis: eliciting and analyzing requirements to validate and support core organizational functions and processes; making recommendations to improve business and operational effectiveness across the enterprise
project management: meeting defined project objectives and milestones
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Application Administration
Monitor the University's applications to maintain a high level of availability, usability and response rate
Configure and maintain the University's applications, which includes patching, upgrading, configuring, refreshing, and restoring
Collaborate with other IS teams such as DBAs, System Administrators, Data Warehousing, Project Management, and Network team to maintain a secure, reliable, high performing infrastructure
Recommend and administer security best practices to protect University data, software, and hardware
Technical Support
Identify and resolve complex business and technical solutions, utilizing product knowledge and troubleshooting tools and techniques
Provide support to students, faculty, and staff
Document solutions and create knowledge articles
Collaborate with other IS teams and Technical Support to troubleshoot and resolve issues
Participate in relevant industry user groups
Plan and implement appropriate training
Business Analysis
Proactively meet with decision makers, system owners, and end users to define and prioritize business and operational requirements and system goals
Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing business processes and develop enhancement strategies
Application Development
Design, develop, and implement solutions, mindful of costs, that best meet requirements and anticipate future needs.
Design and develop solutions that incorporate industry best practices, security, and reusability
Consult with other experts to validate solutions
Lead, prioritize, plan, coordinate, and communicate resource availability and project tasks/milestones
Collaborate with all stakeholders in the development of project timelines, requirements, design and testing
Develop and document best practices
QUALIFICATIONS:
General knowledge of Business Process Analysis, Higher Education Business and Student Systems, Data Warehousing, Enterprise Content Management (document imaging, scanning, workflow, eforms, etc.) and data integration software and related best practices.
Technical fluency in secure programming techniques and best practices in one or more of the following programming languages: Oracle SQL & PL/SQL, Java, Python, .NET, VB, Power Shell, Linux Shell scripting, XML, CSS
Fluency in one or more of the following platforms: Ellucian Banner, Hyland OnBase Informatica, Oracle APEX, JMeter, Apache, TomCat, JBoss, MicroStrategy
Ability to tune and secure a web-based application environment for optimal performance, security and integrity, e.g., Tomcat and Java environment configuration.
General knowledge of effective source control, specifically with GIT
General knowledge of encryption and authentication key use and management.
Excellent skills in systems analysis, process analysis, data analysis, application tuning and problem-solving in multi-leveled application environments.
General knowledge of Oracle database tables, indexes, well-formed SQL queries and stored procedures.
General knowledge of secure computer systems and application architecture.
General knowledge of Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems to support secure installation, configuration and tuning of application software environments, including shell scripting.
General knowledge of project management practices, with ability to plan and schedule technical projects.
Ability to communicate, document and audit technical and administrative information in a clear and concise manner.
Ability to prioritize work schedules which may require juggling multiple projects, tasks and production support issues.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
2+ years experience with business and/or technical process analysis and workflow development
2+ years experience configuring and proactively managing secure enterprise application environments
2+ years programming experience with languages/tools mentioned above
Proven experience using SQL, Excel and other query tools to gather and import data for analysis and reporting
2+ years experience with relational databases, SQL programming, and database stored procedures (Oracle PL/SQL preferred)
2+ years experience writing shell scripts in either a Windows and/or Unix/Linux server environment
WORK HOURS:
Full-time, exempt position
Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; 7.75 hrs./day; 38.75 hrs./week (This position offers a hybrid work schedule)
Required to work as needed; occasionally after hours and weekends as required to meet planned project deadlines and respond to unplanned outages
SALARY STRUCTURE:
Pay Grade 9 (Hiring Range $73,008.00 to $100,402.00 annually)
