The pay rate for this part-time position is $20 / hr based on experience and geographic location.
This position falls under the U.S. Department of Labor Service Contract Act (SCA). In addition to hourly pay, a Health and Welfare stipend of $4.98 per hour will be provided for up to 40 hours per week.
You are also eligible to receive pay for up to 10 holidays and annual vacation time payout, as well as access to an employee discount program.
Travel time and mileage is fully reimbursable.

Field Interviewers are responsible for:
Contact parents by telephone and help them set up for a respondent-administered online assessment for themselves and their children (ages 2-7)
Traveling frequently to selected homes of study participants who complete online assessment
Discussing the study, answering questions, and obtaining participation
Conducting an in-person interview with selected respondents
Collecting confidential information and administering standardized questionnaires
Independently managing administrative duties, including participating in conference calls and completing online trainings
Transmitting data as scheduled
Assuming full and legal responsibility for use and care of project-issued equipment
Safeguarding any participant incentives, issued equipment, or project materials against damage, loss, or theft
Assuming responsibility for and carefully tracking all participant incentives
Submitting timely and accurate Time & Expense reports
Attending virtually scheduled meetings with other members of the project team
Communicating with and responding to your Field Supervisor daily
RTI International is seeking part-time field interviewers on the Family Partners for Research Study.
The Family Partners for Research Study is a multi-mode feasibility study where we are asking parents and their children (ages 2-7) to complete an online assessment on their own, with a project-provided tablet and hotspot or their own personal device. Approximately 2-weeks after they complete the online assessment, field interviewers will schedule a time to conduct the same assessment in-person to both the parent and child. Interviewers will be responsible for contacting parents, gaining cooperation, answering questions, avoiding refusals, and locating or tracing the family. Interviewers will provide families an incentive for their participation. Data collection will begin June 2024 through August 31, 2024.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years old at time of employment
Must possess High School Diploma or GED
Possess effective communication skills through speech and listening
Fluency in English through reading, writing, and speaking
Available for entire training and data collection period
Able to successfully complete training
Must have a valid driver's license and reliable personal automobile available for business use
Comfortable using RTI issued tablet, laptop, and other associated equipment
Access to password protected WiFI connection for data transmission and administrative responsibilities
Able to keep project information confidential
Willingness to work in various types of weather conditions and after dark
Preferred Qualifications for Ideal Candidates:
Positive, self-motivated, curious, and enjoys interacting with people from culturally diverse backgrounds
Effective time, schedule, and workload management skills to meet set deadlines
Computer skills, namely email and internet proficiency
Experience working with children and administering child-assessments on a computer or tablet
Experience conducting interviews within a respondent's home
Availability for overnight travel
Previous experience on National Survey on Children and Adolescent Wellbeing (NSCAW) or similar studies dealing with younger children
The data collection period is expected to be June 2024 through August 2024.
On average, you will be needed approximately 15 hours per week when work is available.
On average, you should be available to work in the field 3 days each week.
The majority of this work is anticipated to be during evenings and weekends.
Each of your trips to the field are expected to be at least 3 hours long
Field Interviewers are required to complete trainings which include:
Successfully pass project required trainings
Attendance at all trainings is mandatory
Training will be virtual via Zoom.
