The Autism Center of Nebraska, Inc. is looking for a Full-Time Special Education Teacher to lead our Transition Day Program (Monday-Friday) creating and managing the programs that we run for our individuals!

The successful candidate for this position will have good listening skills, assessment skills and ability to manage multiple tasks. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and behavior disorders is a must. Candidates must be flexible and be able to work within school day hours. Special Education Endorsement is required.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Five years' experience providing support to persons with developmental disabilities.

  • Three years' experience as a manager or Supervisor

  • Ability to attend and participate in meetings, trainings, seminars, etc. (on and off-site)

  • Demonstrated knowledge of service delivery models for persons with developmental disabilities.

Duties and responsibilities:


  • Administers and directs of continuous educational, pre-vocational, and vocational services.

  • Provides oversight and creativity in the development of individualized habilitation.

  • Working with one student or a small group

  • Assist students with individualized work tasks.

  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEP)

  • Monitor and record evidence of student’s learning and progress.

  • Support students with emotional or behavior concerns and assist them in developing social skills.

  • Assist with personal care and hygiene.

  • Provide support for individual students in the relaxed classroom and out in the community.

  • Maintain confidentiality of information

  • Any other job duties assigned.

Certifications/Trainings:

· First Aid/CPR

· Medication Aide

· Mandt

· On-the-job training

• Must be at least 19 years of age

• Teaching Certification along with Special Education Endorsement

• Valid driver's license

• Current vehicle insurance

• Reliable transportation All applicants are subject to required background checks.
