Job Description:

This position will provide support to the enterprise by monitoring, maintaining, and analyzing master data across key ERP modules. This role will have in-depth understanding of the functionality of the ERP system with comprehensive knowledge of business processes related to item set-up, product / vendor group hierarchies, cost, pad, units of measure, MRP inputs, etc. Also, the MDM Specialist is a key resource for the review, resolution, and executing on certain customer order transactions and ensures these transactions are processed through the company's ERP platform accurately and on a timely basis through a system-generated workflow. (This is meant to be a guide. Duties may vary dependent upon management.)

Essential Position Functions:


  • New item creation and Item Master maintenance.

  • Manage and maintain costing elements (i.e., vendor cost, UOM, pad, other charges, etc.) in Item master.

  • Manage and maintain new and existing customer-specific supplier cost / rebate agreements in ERP platform.

  • Assist in the periodic standard cost updates (i.e., rolling standards)

  • Support business in data validation, transaction research, correction, and root cause analysis.

  • Utilization of various system tools for implementing cost changes.

  • Ensure master data in key systems as well as maintaining the process to support data quality.

  • Application of business process and systems' data knowledge to perform sales order review and analysis.

  • Determine possible sales order resolution and execute on order release or submission for higher level review.

  • Identify common business process gaps, errors, trends and develop optimal process and systems' solutions to reduce inefficiencies and enhance customer experience.

  • Maintain master data in key systems, as well as development and documentation of processes with other functional data owners to support ongoing maintenance and data integrity.

  • Identify areas for data quality and workflow enhancements and helps to resolve data quality and customer order issues through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement.

  • Track and report progress on process, quality control, and data enhancements.

  • Partner with internal and external parties to leverage ERP capabilities as they relate to the function.

  • Other duties as required.

Education and/or Experience:


  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Bachelor's degree or related equivalent experience preferred.

  • In-depth understanding of the functionality of an ERP system.

  • Must have advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) skills.

  • Must be able to efficiently use a Windows-based computer.

  • Ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Able to effectively handle multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communications skills.

  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
