We are looking for a driven and experienced individual to perform Manufacturing Engineering tasks in a fast-paced advanced technology environment with a strong focus on PCBA and electronic assembly manufacturing. This individual will work under the guidance of the company's Director of Manufacturing.
The ideal candidate will have completed their 4-year Bachelor's degree with an Engineering discipline and have at least 3+ years of recent experience in an Aerospace, Defense or Space organization as a Manufacturing Engineer. This person will be an intelligent, organized and trustworthy individual, with an exceptional ability to support manufacturing and production activities.
Responsibilities:
Plans, designs and implements manufacturing processes and improvements.
Analyze layout of equipment, workflow assembly methods and work force utilization
Identifies parts and tooling needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications
Drive Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma techniques including value stream mapping, set-up time reduction, process improvements and overall waste reduction
Participate in MRB to assess non-conformances, conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions on parts and processes
Evaluate new and existing processes to ensure safety and quality
Review new and existing designs and provide design for manufacturing input to the design engineering team.
Consult with vendors in evaluating solutions for meeting product specifications, quality standards and specifications
Identify and troubleshoot equipment and processes that are negatively impacting ability to achieve KPI's
Review assembly, test procedures, and provide constructive feedback to members of the product design team, as well as research and present recommendations for cost saving initiatives.
Execute Process FMEA and develop procedures to mitigate risk during assembly and testing
Participate in MRB, assess and disposition non-conformances, conduct failure analysis
Drive initiatives to achieve customer return reduction, capitalize project timelines, MRB reduction, YOY productivity improvements, and direct labor variance reduction.
Skills/Qualifications:
Strong background in working with electronics including but not limited to:
Manufacturing of PCBA's / CCA's including knowledge of conformal coating, thermal cycling, staking, and other processes within PCBA's
Manufacturing of electronic assemblies
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
Ability to make decisions with little guidance from electrical engineering for wire harnessing and routing
Familiarity with IPC 610 standards is preferred
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Deep understanding of drafting to ASME Y14.1000 and GD&T to ASME Y14.5 standards
Familiarity with the use of Solidworks is preferred
Familiarity with Electromechanical Assembly is preferred
A hands-on, "get it done" attitude
Strong communication and leadership ability
Ability to work collaboratively with various Engineering, Production disciplines and other company departments
Creativity and self-motivation to solve unique and complex technical problems
Desire to lead teams and be promoted to higher levels of responsibility
Knowledge of Microsoft products including Windows 7, Word, Excel, etc.
Excellent oral and written English skills
Space and Defense experience is highly desired
Aerospace experience required
Must have a current top-secret clearance or have the ability to obtain one
