Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Operations Manager to oversee the production operations of our satellite manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronic assembly, digital product testing, and data-driven management. They will be responsible for driving operational excellence, implementing KPIs, fostering employee development, and strategizing succession planning within the operations department.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the electronic assembly process for satellite components, ensuring adherence to quality standards, efficiency, and timely delivery.
  • Manage the digital product testing procedures to ensure the reliability and functionality of satellite systems, collaborating with engineering teams to resolve any issues.
  • Utilize data analytics to identify areas for improvement in operations, develop strategies to optimize processes, and make data-driven decisions to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Define and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of operations, regularly monitor KPIs, and implement corrective actions as needed to meet organizational goals.
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing operations team, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to enhance skills and capabilities.
  • Experience implementing succession planning strategies within the operations department to ensure continuity of leadership and talent pipeline for key positions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, supply chain, and quality assurance to streamline processes, resolve issues, and drive overall operational excellence.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the operations department, fostering a culture of innovation, efficiency, and excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices within the manufacturing environment.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in electronic assembly and digital product testing within a manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace or satellite industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in data-driven management techniques, with a strong understanding of performance metrics and analytics. Lean Management or Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Experience in implementing and managing KPIs to drive operational excellence.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of mentoring and developing teams.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to develop and execute succession planning initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
