Falconwood, Inc. is a woman and veteran-owned business providing executive-level consultants and programmatic support to Department of Defense (DoD) Information Technology (IT) initiatives and programs. We provide expert consultation on a diverse range of IT subjects, focusing on acquisition strategy, implementation activities, cloud computing, systems engineering, and cyber security policy and engineering.We are seeking an experienced senior cloud network engineer to lead our initiatives, ensuring the highest level of network reliability, security, and performance. The senior cloud network engineer will play a pivotal role in the planning, design, implementation, and optimization of our cloud networking solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of modern networking technologies with a focus on cloud computing, extensive experience in network architecture, and a proactive approach to solving complex networking challenges.

Responsibilities

• Participate in network modernization planning and demonstrate a deep technical understanding of modern network designs and architectures.
• Lead the design and architecture of Naval Enterprise Networks, ensuring scalability, redundancy, and optimal performance.
• Experience using cloud networking solutions and processes to deliver capabilities to the network and its users.
• Use DevSecOps principles to securely deliver network engineering configurations.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their growth and development.
• Collaborate with vendors to evaluate and select networking equipment and technologies that align with customer objectives.

• Must have a DoD 8570.01-M, IAT level 2 certification.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 8+ years of hands-on experience as a network engineer, with a strong emphasis on cloud networking.
• Expert-level knowledge of routing and switching.
• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting cloud networking solutions, including Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with Azure Express Route, Virtual Private Clouds (VPC), and other cloud networking services.
• In-depth understanding of network security principles and practices.
• Microsoft AZ-700/AZ-305 or AWS Solutions Architect/AWS Advanced Networking are preferred.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
