Job Description:

The Receptionist at WTMJ is responsible for greeting visitors and directing inquiries on the phone and face to face. Supply information regarding the organization to the general public, clients, and customers.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:


  • Operate telephone to answer, screen, or forward calls, providing information, taking messages, or scheduling appointments.

  • Greet persons entering establishment, determine nature and purpose of visit, and direct or escort them to specific destinations.

  • Provide information to callers.

  • Deal with queries from the public and customers.

  • Ensures knowledge of staff movements in and out of organization.

  • General administrative and clerical support.

  • Prepare letters and documents in support of business operations as approved by supervisor.

  • Schedule appointments.

  • Tidy and maintain the reception area.

  • Open, sort and distribute incoming correspondence, including faxes and email.

  • Perform general office duties such as ordering supplies, maintaining records management systems, and performing basic bookkeeping work.

  • Maintain inventory flow and storage of office supplies.

  • Participate in building safety which includes working with the evacuation team at supervisor’s direction.

  • Perform other duties as needed and as directed by supervisor/management.
     

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:


  • High school diploma required

  • 1 - 2 years of office experience
     

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:


  • Resourceful, self-motivated, and independent with the ability to deal with people of all levels within and outside the organization

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures

  • Knowledge of computers and relevant software applications

  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices

  • Proficient with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
     

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
