The Hardware Maintenance Technician is a highly technical professional who manages and maintains the physical hardware that comprises the local portion of the Air Force JWICS infrastructure at JBSA-Lackland.
Responsibilities:
Maintain local workstations, servers, printers, and SANs components to include preventive maintenance.
Coordinate and document (in ITSM) maintenance actions of all hardware components consisting of virtualization host servers, Windows-based Operating Systems, Intel-based workstations, printers, network switches, routers, storage devices (SAN/NAS/DAS), peripherals, and other network computer components.
Support the government’s equipment custodian in managing hardware on the local Hardware Maintenance account.
Adhere to locally established change management procedures to ensure an orderly process for system configuration changes.
Maintain and provide recommendations of system components, consumables and infrastructure spares necessary for sustainment of local infrastructure.
Develop lifecycle disposition plans for specified eqiupment
Provide "on the job" hardware maintenance monthly knowledge transfer on how to perform functions to Government personnel.
Requirements:
High school diploma with 3-6 years' experience (accredited degree may count toward experience)
Security Clearance: Top Secret with SCI
Verified DOD TS/SCI eligibility on day one
Current A+ Certification
Strong written, and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage detail-oriented tasks
Preferred:
At least three (3) years of government contracting or equivalent experience
Ability to write technical documentation and create management reports and metrics
