The ILI Assumption Team has an exciting opportunity for an individual interested in data management and analytics. The ILI Assumption Team analyzes and sets all Policyholder Behavior, Mortality, and Expense assumptions for the Individual Life Insurance business unit. This specific role will have responsibility supporting all the data needs on the ILI Assumption Team. This includes partnering with Assumption Owners to acquire and improve access to necessary data for experience studies; helping create new and enhanced assumption monitoring capabilities; collaborating with key stakeholders to understand and help solve their data needs specific to the assumption setting process, etc.

The ideal candidate for this role is someone that has technical and data background and is looking to expand their business and product knowledge.

The current EWA for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

What you can expect:


  • Assisting data owners in acquiring and validating necessary data for annual 2Q assumption unlock needed for experience studies;

  • Supporting key projects such as data requests from the NAIC, LIMRA, MIB for industry studies and annual experience data submissions;

  • Supporting Polysystems model improvement project by implementing changes and validating results. Additionally, will document and describe the impact of recommended improvements;

  • Technical support for assumption owners including query support, ad-hoc data pulls, resolving technical issues and assisting in investigation of data concerns;

  • Efficiently access data from PFMC, PolySystems Measure; Amazon Redshift; and other systems;

  • Potential to support special technical projects for Individual Life Insurance.

What you’ll need:


  • Strong programming background with an understanding of various tools and languages

  • Expertise in SQL and Python preferred

  • Experience with data manipulation and analysis

  • Experience in PowerBI or other data visualization tools is preferred

  • Excellent analytical; business; and critical thinking skills

  • Awareness of key actuarial assumptions and their importance to each business unit is a plus

  • B.A. / B.S. required - preferably in actuarial, computer programming, mathematics, statistics, business, finance, or related field

It’d be a plus if you had:


  • Background knowledge of individual life products is a plus

  • Actuarial exam progress towards ASA designation is a plus

The salary range for this role is from $97,300.00 to $144,900.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
