Our client is an asset management firm. They seek a VP, Tax - BDC to join their Culver City, CA office. The opportunity offers a hybrid work schedule and comprehensive salary and benefits.
Responsibilities
Liaise with accounting teams, overseeing compliance with the RIC qualification tests
Assess taxable income, including calculation of E&P estimates and spillover income
Ensure transactions in the portfolio are accounted for and determine the proper flavor
Calculate and publish "QII" notices and answer questions from stockholders
Determine tax provisions and tax basis for partnership and corporate investments
Review federal, state, and local tax returns prepared by outside accounting firms
Manage the process of preparation of quarterly taxable income estimates
Review US withholding issues, including reporting for Form 1099 and Form 1042
Read and respond to notices from federal, state, and local tax authorities
Requirements
10+ years of corporate or partnership experience
Regulated company tax background required
Financial services or fund industry background
Combo accounting background preferred
BDC experience preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Organized, analytical, with keen attention to detail
