Summer is beautiful in Ithaca! Temporary live-in positions for a registered/licensed medical professional for Summer Music Academy. July 14-21, 2024 (High School Division), and/or July 28-August 3, 2024 (Intermediate Division) for the 2024 Summer Music Academy at Ithaca College.
Job responsibilities:
Oversee health-related issues with students
Serve as liaison with the Health Department and Ithaca College Health Center
Review all student medical forms and contact parents regarding any concerns regarding care
Review all prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medication and research any unknown medications
Administer prescription and OTC medication to students as needed as per standing orders from prescribing physician(s)
Receive training and maintain knowledge of CircuiTree system (SMA's Camp Management Platform)
Update and keep records of all health-related issues within CircuiTree system
Make a list of all students who need to see the nurse during the registration process. Provide list to Director of SMA within one week prior to the start of the SMA.
Check in all medications (prescription & OTC) using CircuiTree system during the check-in process
Obtain permission from physicians for any medication that was not originally listed within the CircuiTree system (was brought to camp as a new medication) to provide orders to administer medication to student.
Keep accurate and up-to-date records within CircuiTree system of all treatments which will be inspected by the NYS Health Department.
Organize all medications (prescription & OTC) systematically within the SMA Health Office by student. Organization of medications will be inspected by NYS Health Department. All medication will be double locked and held in the SMA Health Office.
Inventory all medical supplies upon arrival at camp
Purchase any necessary supplies during the day prior to student arrival. Any purchases will be reimbursed.
Familiarity and preparation to utilize necessary PPE in the event that a positive COVID-19 case is identified.
Requirements:
A copy of license to practice as an MD, RN, LPN, PA, or EMT
American Red Cross: Responding to Emergencies, American Red Cross Wilderness Training and current certifications in First Aid and CPR
Training must take place at such a time as to not expire within one year of the end date of the camp

Compensation:
