LHH is assisting a client in search of a Tax Manager. The Tax Manager role will be a key team resource with strong technical knowledge able to lead in both the income and non-income tax areas. Approximately 80% of time will be in the area of income tax and the remaining time assisting with indirect taxes. The ideal candidate must have an active CPA, Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 5+ years of experience in corporate tax.
This position pays $110K-140K base and is in office 3 days per week.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review and prepare federal and state income tax returns
Review federal and state estimated tax payments
Review and prepare income tax provisions in accordance with U.S. GAAP and IFRS
Assist with non-income tax research and projects
Lead indirect tax audits
Partner with entity controllers to identify tax opportunities and risks
Tax research and other special projects
Training and mentoring of staff
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
5 or more years of corporate tax experience
CPA required, public accounting experience preferred
Private industry and manufacturing industry experience preferred
Significant state tax return compliance experience, including large unitary/consolidated state filings
Demonstrates excellent problem solving skills
Ability to identify and initiate process improvements
Ability to meet deadlines
Detail oriented
ASC 740 reporting experience
Ability to effectively research technical tax issues
Experience with tax compliance and provision software (Corp tax strongly preferred)
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office projects, especially Excel
Experience with SAP preferred
Effective verbal and written communications, including active listening skills, problem solving skills and presentation skills
Continuously searching for the most efficient processes to improve tax operations
Ability to work independently, with latitude for initiative and independent judgment
Ability to maintain composure under pressure while meeting multiple deadlines
TRAVEL:
Occasional travel to affiliate locations
Responsibilities:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting or Finance
5+ years' of experience of professional tax experience
