The Department of Physics within the esteemed Charles V. Schaefer, Jr. School of Engineering and Science at Stevens Institute of Technology is actively seeking applications for an adjunct position specializing in optical system design utilizing ZEMAX. This position will be on a term-by-term appointment, with the earliest commencement slated for Fall 2024.

Qualifications

A Ph.D. in a field closely related to optics/photonics is a requirement.

Candidates boasting industry experience are particularly encouraged to apply, enriching the academic landscape with real-world insight. We are seeking an energetic individual who is eager to share their experience with students and bridge the academic world to the industry world.

Responsibilities


  • Delivering engaging lectures and practical sessions that inspire and educate students in the realm of optical system design.

  • Serving as a mentor, guiding students through real-world applications and challenges within the field.

  • Actively participating in academic initiatives and fostering collaborative relationships within the department and beyond.
