The State Street Middleware Application Infrastructure Team supports IBM MQ and Kafka suites across the Bank. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise and leadership to the Messaging Operations Team. The position requires effective communication and technical skills with a willingness to learn and implement best-in-class tools and strategies. The candidate must be willing to design and implement solutions, work on new technology projects and improve the current Messaging application stack.
What you will be responsible for
As MQ Infrastructure Operations Engineer you will
Provide Level 3+ technical support for Middleware Messaging Application Services for the State Street Corporation.
Manage and train Operational personnel
Effectively participate and lead ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, Change, Capacity management
Serve as a client liaison and a point of escalation for internal and external customers
Work with the engineering team on continuous service improvement focusing on automation and service standardization.
Initiate and manage vulnerability remediation, patching, upgrades, and hardware life cycle to ensure we remain current with technology solutions and meet client needs.

Experience with programming languages like Python, Ansible, Puppet, Shell
Experience with IBM MQ Series platform on-prem and on a public cloud
Experience with Confluent Kafka platform on-prem and on a public cloud
Experience with Messaging products running on RHEL Linux or other Unix platform
Experience with scripting and orchestration - Puppet / Ansible / Python / Terraform / Shell
Some level of understanding of Kafka Messaging, IBM MQSeries, or another Messaging technology
Experience with finding root cause for problems with applications using Kafka Messaging or another Messaging technology or with any software
Ability to multitask, manage high-priority initiatives and coordinate the activities with Service Delivery and Engineering teams to completion.
Ability to work in a team setting with a diverse group: operations support resources, SSC client services representatives, application and service delivery teams.
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
10+ years of experience in middleware administration supporting Messaging or Kafka Systems
Strong understanding of middleware technologies, including application servers, messaging systems, and integration platforms.
Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Salary Range: $130,000 - $212,500 Annual
