TEXAS BRIDGE LEAD

DESCRIPTION

Working closely with our Texas leadership, Regional Bridge Practice Lead, and local transportation professionals, this individual will support the development and implementation of an innovative business strategy, identifying and leading key strategic pursuits, managing large bridge contracts, and establishing strategic relationships with clients and teaming partners to support and grow Michael Baker's bridge practice in Texas. The Texas Bridge Lead will also support the national bridge practice by developing innovative and value-added solutions to various bridge preservation and asset management challenges. The position will require excellent technical and communication skills and the ability to interface with Michael Baker International staff and clients to ensure growth of business and execution of work with the highest technical excellence. In this role they will pursue, lead, manage, and perform bridge engineering services on a variety of high visibility projects. The position will maintain a professional profile and reputation within the industry at local, regional and national levels.

Other responsibilities include :


  • Develop and maintain client, stakeholder and teaming partner relationships. Work closely with the Michael Baker Texas Transportation Leadership Team in pursuit identification and strategies, agency and public outreach, and allocation/management of technical resources. Identifies and leverages partnership opportunities, build knowledge in government relations, protocol and processes and develop strategic relationships with key elected officials, industry leaders, agency management leaders and colleague firms through collaboration with Business Development Associates.
  • Serve as Program Manager, Project Manager, Technical Manager, Technical Lead, Project Engineer, or Technical Advisor for local and/or regional projects.
  • Provide regional and national leadership in the growth, capture, and delivery of professional services contracts.
  • Provide technical and management expertise and guidance to staff, including Bridge Department Managers; provide technical reassurance to Michael Baker clients and stakeholders.
  • Provide assistance to National Directors, Regional Practice Leads, and Bridge Technical Directors related to pursuits, lending technical input to strategy and proposals with an emphasis in bridge preservation and asset management.
  • Maintain awareness of relevant technical developments and seek opportunities to develop a professional profile and thought leadership through presentations at relevant conferences/meetings;
  • Actively participate in local and regional professional organizations working to secure leadership roles on Board(s) or Committee(s)
  • Actively participate in technical committees for industry organizations in bridge preservation and asset management.
  • Provide technical advisory services to clients within the area of subject matter expertise.
  • Implement innovation in technical solutions and undertake technical reviews for deliverables.
  • Assist in the development of firm-wide talent through coaching, mentoring and recruiting.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's Degree is a plus.
  • 20+ years of related experience.
  • Licensed Texas Professional Engineer (PE); Licensure in other states is a plus.
  • Experience with bridge preservation and maintenance policies and procedures
  • Experience with innovative and value-added bridge design and construction solutions.
  • Possess excellent client skills and ability to enhance and develop solid client relationships.
  • Leadership experience with applicable industry and professional organizations.
  • This is a highly visible position that requires strong interpersonal, communication, presentation and negotiation skills, as well as problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team setting to support related projects and assignments.
  • Ability to assist in developing strategic approaches and concepts.

COMPENSATION

The approximate compensation range for this position is $250,000 to $280,000. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
