RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a SQL Server DBA in Kansas City, MO.

Summary:
The SQL Server DBA will be responsible for supporting the core database and application server infrastructure within an organization. This position will be proficient in SQL and relevant database technologies such as SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, IBM Db2, and MongoDB.

Duties include:

• Managing database systems, ensuring data security and integrity, performing database recovery and backup, and providing technical leadership


• Designs and implements databases according to end users' needs, defines user access, and distributes data in a timely manner


• May be involved in some development work and are expected to resolve database performance and capacity issues


• Participates in 24/7 on-call rotation


• Serves as escalation point for Service Desk and Level I Network Engineers

REQUIREMENTS:

• 5 years of experience as a SQL DBA


• Experience with relevant database technologies such as SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, IBM Db2, and MongoDB


• Experience in data engineering, IT support, or systems administration


• Experience in building, managing, and maintaining databases and database processes


• Experience implementing database patches and backup/recovery procedures


• Experience with installing, upgrading, and configuring Oracle tools across multiple platforms


• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, Google, IBM Cloud, and Cloud PaaS


• Familiarity with ITIL processes and the ITIL framework


• Familiarity with database design, coding, and a strong understanding of database standards and end-user applications


• Excellent problem-solving skills


• Proficiency in SQL, HTML, and software engineering principles

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
