About the Role Fivetran is building data pipelines to power the modern data stack for thousands of companies. The Senior Revenue Accountant is responsible for timely and accurate revenue recognition. This role will work on all aspects of the revenue accounting process to ensure accurate and complete financial information. This includes, but is not limited to, sales contract review for revenue implications, executing month-end and year-end close activities, and supporting cross-functional business partners. In addition, this position will require impeccable attention to detail and the ability to deliver results under deadlines. You will partner cross-functionally with various teams to develop and maintain best-in-class processes and controls to support the seamless execution of our revenue recognition activities. Youll support the design and implementation of automated solutions to further scale and streamline revenue processes. This is a full-time position based out of our Oakland office. What Youll Do
  • Execute monthly accounting close activities and deliverables in NetSuite (i.e. journal entries, account reconciliations, analytics and reporting), in compliance with ASC 606
  • Identify, track and assess non-standard revenue contracts, as needed, for appropriateness of revenue recognition
  • Partner with Deal Desk, Legal, FP&A, and Go-To-Market teams to develop timely and accurate reporting of all revenue streams
  • Support external audit requirements
  • Assist in the implementation of revenue recognition processes surrounding new products and company initiatives
  • Identify process improvements and assist in automation efforts to drive efficiency initiatives within the quote to cash business cycle
  • Clearly and completely document all processes and procedures in line with control activities
  • Participate in ad hoc projects, as needed
Skills Were Looking For
  • 6+ years of combined experience in public accounting and/or in a corporate revenue accounting role.
  • Experience with ASC 606, preferably at a high-growth SaaS company.
  • You can demonstrate advanced Excel and system skills.
  • You are meticulous and well-organized. You strive for precision and thrive in an environment of changing processes, working with multiple data sources, and driving multiple tasks to completion. This role is all about the details paired with thoughtful execution.
  • You are passionate about process, continuous improvement, and leveraging technology.
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills. Your approach is clear, thoughtful and service-oriented.
  • You are a self-starter with a strong sense of ownership over your work and that of the team.

Bonus Skills
  • Preferred experience: Salesforce, Stripe, Looker, Usage/consumption-based revenue recognition, services recognition, AWS and GCP marketplaces, CPA, SaaS industry, IPO readiness.

This range represents base salary only and does not include incentive for sales roles, equity, or benefits, if applicable.


Pay Range$133,920—$167,400 USD
